Making Your Day Special With Wedding Reception Games

If there's a time besides high school when awkwardness and uncertainty prevails, it's at the time of a wedding reception. Sometimes your guests wouldn't want to dance or aren't just comfortable enough with each other. Wedding reception games, being popular all over the globe, are a fantastic way to break the ice between your wedding guests and keep them busy throughout the party. They'll aid to make your wedding one of a kind, something hard to forget for a long while.

A fun and interactive game to get everyone involved would be "Bride or Groom?" The women would form one team and the men, the other team-or alternatively, the bride's guests would be on one side and the groom's guests on the other. "Who" questions like 'Who will do the dishes?' or 'Who will win every argument?' are then asked. Make a point to be modest, picking questions which do not embarrass the newly married couple in front of elderly people, children or co-workers. Alternatively, couples inclusive of the wedding couple can take part in "Mr. And Mrs. Quiz", in which couples are going to jot down their answers on a chalkboard to questions asked by the emcee. The couple with the same answer gets a point, and the couple with the greatest score wins!

Another adorable game is "Feed Me, Feed Me" which demonstrates the teamwork between the newly married couple. The bride is made to sit on a chair while the groom is blindfolded and handed a snack or fruit, such as a banana. The guests then spin him a few times until he's disoriented. Then, the groom must feed his bride the banana, relying solely on instructions given to him by her. After it's done, switch the positions! Be careful not to give food items that could possibly ruin the bride's makeup or her dress. You don't want a disaster!

For the secondary sponsors of your wedding, here's a naughty little game. It is a lot like musical chairs-in fact, it is called Human Musical Chairs-and involves the men being the musical chairs while women dance around them until the music plays, and when it stops each woman must sit down on one of the men. The woman who hasn't found a partner is disqualified and the winning ladies are then carried like a bride by the man they're sitting on...quite a treat!

As you can see, incorporating games into your wedding means you'll be inviting peals of laughter to your function. Of course, be careful about which games you pick and how you execute them-some games may be appropriate for one setting but boisterous for another. Consult the hosts and hostesses before introducing any game or activity into your event. Though, in general, you'll seal the night with more happy and lively faces than otherwise, so the game is on!
